|
Ever since I'm using madtracker I wanted to direct certain tracks (such as clicktracks) to the rear out of my SBLive card. But there's no such option. You can pan left/right though.
Now with VST support, is it possible to direct one single track to the rear speakers only? |

Surround sound panning, this idea has been discussed before...
I suppose, if there's a surround sound VST panner available, then it'd most likely be possible. Other than that though, it'd be too much unnecessary work to implement. |

There are several surround sound VST and DX plugins out there, but it seems they all cost their fair amount of money. I did however find one freeware plugin. Downside is it only produces 3.1 surround sound, or pro logic in other words. check it out here:
Azimuth Pad under downloads
Another thing is that you need a joystick in order to control where the sound goes. I don't have a surround sound setup so I couldn't test it, but it did seem to load up in MT just fine and when I played around with it using a joystick it did alter the sound. So maybe it's enough for your use |

Thanks for the help so far.
3.1 surround is not what I need. It's not even "surround sound" what I need
I use MT as a sequenser with my rockband. Now I use the left channel for the clicktrack. So, the left channel is directed to my headphones. The right channel contains the samples and is redirected to the PA system. Major downside of this solution is that all samples are mono
So in order to have stereo samples, I need a third channel. A regular SBLive has four, so that shouldn't be a problem.
But now I know what to search for Surround panning.
Any other suggestions are most welcome! |

What do you mean by "Clicktrack" do you use it as a metronome? |

Yes, as a metronome. I need it because the samples play on predefined moments so I need something to guide me |
