mp3 Submitting!

Well, there are people who make good music(not me Smile) who doesn't want to show their sourcecodes(mt2s) and publish their music in mp3 format. Then, what about allowing to submit mp3s AND mt2s?

MP3's were allowed before. This resulted into an almost MP3-only archive. Since this is the MT2 website, we axpect to find MT2 files.

If you want to promote your MP3, just mention a download URL in the MT2 comments.

Dispite the fact that MP3s would take less time to upload than some MT2s, yeah, MadTracker.Org is for MadTracker, not Rebirth and someone just saying it was made in MadTracker Razz

agree! there are plenty of places one can upload mp3's. On the homepage of the program, you'd expect to be able to download tunes made in the native format, especially when it's a tracker we're talking about Wink

This discussion has been here before, and we then also argumented ourself into the reasonable conclusion that it is most logical to only publish mt2's. There is much possible in mt2, and although mastering can fill the gap between 'underground' and 'commercial' music, the challenge lies into tweaking every possible parameter in MT to achieve a nearby-the-same result. MT2's can be very good in their native format, and this site is to showcase that. mt.org isn't made to show how good the bbe sonic maximiser sounds Smile

For me it is an important way to learn how to track to see how the song was build. I try to download a new song each time I`m here, because its always cool to see how others track, what kind of samples they use - and who they use the program.

also its a great way to get new samples and ideas. When I first began tracking most songs where "demostyle" but now all kinds of music are tracked, and its a great way to get a taste of different kinds of music.

But I see no harm in releasing a mp3 version as long as you release the initial sourcecode along with it. It doesnt have to be "either-or", does it?

Both is possible; you have a parameters-box which you can fill as you please, so you can simply add an url to your mp3 edit or site there Smile

The madtracker.net webspace for registered users can be used to submit mp3's .. That should be enough I think!
