TUTORIAL UPDATE: SamplingWorkshop / Removing unwanted Noises
Reply with quote

I added some new stuff to the sampling workshop. I found this article on hammersound.net . The author allowed me to add it to my tutorial. The trick he found out is to remove a changing background noise if the original sound has a continous frequency.

You can find the article HERE

I tried it out and it works pretty good!

Cool!

First of all thanks for taking time to make the tutorial - I always read and appreciate the updates.

Something that I would like to know more about on this particular subject is how to discard noise that comes from the interference when you sample from a CD or an external source.

I have heard that some people use a separate chassis for the soundcard to minimize interference but that seems a bit extreme for "hobbytrackers" like myself.

I have tried out the different noise-removers in Goldwave but when the noise is gone... so is most of sound that i wont to keep - I am pretty sure i`m not using the filters to their full potential - so any tips on this would be appreciated, and may also be usefull to add to the tutorial!?
