coloured samples

picture this you put a sample in a track and the tracker automatically computes (based on speed of tune and pitch + length of sample) where the sample ends so the entire sample appears as a coloured block on the screen,

#kinda like acid pro!

then its well easy to see where your sounds are and where they finish when analysing the structure of your tune/ using many tracks

different sample-different shade!

looping made easy

also the thickness of the block could indicate the dynamics of the wave! i.e quieter narrower,

silent, no colour

what do you think YANNICK?

I also think this would be a pretty nice feature. Even though it could easily make the interface appear messy and confusing. If implemented I would suggest that we also have the opportunity to switch it off.

I like the idea, but it needs some tweaking. Why not an optional second track (the visual track) next to a conventional track, in which the colours are visible? It could show volume increase/decrease, panning, eq, etc. But what about overlapping samples?

I don't like this idea...
I think it realy fill's up the interface... what if I have about 6 samples playing an percussion rhythm on one track? What about VST synth notes...

These thinks only work in loop based software ( like acid ) imho madtracker isn't one of these programs and thus shouldn't have this feature, or make an off switch just for me Smile

Hmm how about coloured tracks instead of coloured instruments? To divide your patterns more clearly. Just an idea.
