CHICAGO子ollie - United @ Last

I know I'm not registered. I went to a lot of trouble to get this song recorded, but this is to prove that my music has improved (Greatly improved when compared to my last compo entry Smile )

Take a listen, and tell me what you think (About the song, not about overriding the easy logic as to exporting tunes)

BTW, I do plan to purchase a copy of MT2. I'm never gonna record a song in GoldWave again!!

you should have a option in that poll that says "uch improvement over that last song, but still..."

Yes, a lot of improvement over the last tune. A happy piece Smile You made good use of those samples from Wheelie & the Copper Bunch. The drums could use some work though, sounds as if you've used some pre-made, easy to find drumloops, right? Wink

but the tune shows much improvement. I think I said it in my compo review of your other tune also: you'll get there Wink

Well, I don't think I can add in that opinion to the poll now Smile But I'm certain this tune is much more friendlier on the ears than... ugh... Distressed Froggy Very Happy

Pre-made drumloops, yes. Easy to find? No way! But at least I split them up and re-arranged them.

Thanks Cool

good job!

Yeah United @ last was a good tune (better thyan anything I could do, beeing a noob to tracking). But personally I liked distressed froggy just as well- Its melody hops out at me and kinda sticks with me. Very Happy
If I come across anything else later on in the tunes after the third or fourth listen, I'll be sure and report.

I will be honest, because honesty is the best policy:

ok there is nothing wrong with the samples, but thats all it is.. samples.

It doesnt actually sound like any "real" tracking is going on.. just a bunch of pre-recorded samples from here and there, ie beatloops and those funny cute lines that sound happy and fun.

It is an improvement form the compo entry, it shows that you are certainly starting to grasp Timing and mixing different things with each other.

Try composing. Honestly.. think of a tune think of what sound you want to give it.. get some soft synths (VSTi)..and a vsti host and make some of your own sounds.. experiment..
Practice will get you far.

Its great to see that you are trying different things.. but really try composing Smile.. and if by some off chance that you did compose every little thing from scratch then accept my apologies in advance. But I know what I hear Wink

hehe anyways keep going Lollie as sunbuster said, you will get there. Smile

Funny cute lines that sound happy and fun?? Where?
Oh, you mean that "Handle it without you" Piece? Smile
edit: Sorry, I haven't released THAT tune yet

That compo entry was just bad luck. I didn't listen to it completely before I entered it, and that was my loss. I made that one WAY too long ago (Anything over 6 months is a long time ago), and I'll listen to the song completely before I enter it next time Smile

Well, soft synths rarely ever work for me. I'll only use them if I'm doing a slower song (Or 20th Century Disco [I've only made one of them, and it's not exactly disco] Smile )

Now, composing. The rhodes and bass were original, and I sliced some of the drumloops before using them.
The 'Copper & The Wheeling Bunch' samples were just dying to be used, and I think it worked fine. But that's just my opinion, and it's certain to be different for everyone else (`cept for Jesse Moore. No probs there Very Happy Thanks).

But, hell, I know I've got a fair way to go. Plus I'm still to register MT2 Smile

Now... where can I find $80...

Extracting to "c:\"

caution: filename not matched: CHICAGO-lollie - United @ Last.mp3
error: no files were found - nothing to do

corruption!
