Crackling sound..

I have a problem with sound in Mad Tracker.

This is for playback and for wave exports. The thing is, it only affects Mad Tracker. I am currently making some .xm music for games, and the .xm files play perfecly well in other media players.

I've tried messing about with all the audio settings, they don't make any difference (well they do, but not to the crackling).

It only seems to affect a few samples (they have loops if that's of any relevance). They 'buzz' or 'crackle'. Also, sometimes if I move the mouse around and open menus etc.. there's a lot of crackling.

As I said, the files play perfectly fine with other software on the same machine. Weird!

Anybody have any ideas? Cheers.

On the audio tab in the configuration window does it say no interpolation? It's on the right hand side under options. Switch it to linear interpolation and that should get rid of the crackle.

Well I'm sure I tried that (I tried everything!) but I'll give it another go tonight.

The strange thing is that this all worked fine until recently. I think it might have all coincided with me installing the latest version of Mad Tracker.

I've got several different versions of it now, and it's the same problem with them all.

Thanks for the help guys.

I tried everything, nothing worked.

I got it to work in the end though by removing all trace of Mad Tracker from my harddrive and re-installing it. Now it works a treat.

Don't really know what was going on there... but it works now, that's the main thing.
