Using the offset on drumloops

Laughing Hi !
Does anyone now how to use the offset command on drumloops so it sounds good. i know i use for ex
C-5 1 -- 908 (and it plays back the loop a bit later)
but how do i know which value i shall write on when i wanīt a certain point in the loop to be played back .
Are the values 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,a,b,c,d,e,f i don`t really understant the hexadecimal system.

Best regards Conny

Well, you can open up the sample editor window and when you click somewhere on a sample, you will see a hexadecimal number appear on the bottom of the window (right next to the scale). But to use this number as an offset you should divide it by FFh.
Basically, let's say you found the right point you want your sample to play from. You click on that point and see an hex number appear on status bar.. 000059CF for example. But to play the sample from that position you write
C-5 1 -- 959 (just discard CF, that's what dividing by FFh actually does)

I hope that helped Smile

Hey, I didnt knew that trick yet Wink I have to add it to my tutorial. Very helpful.

@conny: Have you tried to use the sample in SYNCHRONIZED mode? If you use the 9000 command then you can specify the beat you want too say: Beat 1 you enter 9100, Beat 2 you enter 9200, Beat 1 first half 9180 etc.

Hi Conny,

here is an excerpt from the madtracker help:

90 XXYY Set sync. offset

If the sample is synchronized:

X Got to beat X
Y Offset in the beat (in Y/256: 0 = begin of the beat; 80 = middle of the beat; FF = nearly the end of the beat)
Else:
X Divide sample in X parts
Y Go to division Y
