2.6 export problem.

Hi.

I cannot export using 2.6. All that ends up in the .wav or .ogg file is half a second from the bottom of one particular pattern. I've tried selecting "all", "range" or "selection"... no difference.

What's wrong?

if you are using the 2.6.0 with ASIO fix - I think that wave export is disabled...

EDIT: ehh, waveexport requires you to be a registered user...

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I've run into the same problem. As coretex said, this is a problem for ogg export, which is available to non-registered users.

I tried posting a query in under Help first, but I'm beginning to think this is a bug.

Is anyone working on this, or is ogg as well as wav export in general only supported for registered users?

I'd be grateful for all help.

No, the .ogg export is supposed to work for all users. I didn't see coretex was refering to ogg and simply replyed to Martin.
So it seems like this indeed doesn't work for a few people and should be looked at. But if Yannick is still on his break from mt2 this might not happen this year. Try send a mail about the problem and also link to those topics about this problems and wait Smile

Something wrong with OGG?

I´m also having that .ogg-export problem, is it so, that it doesn´t work correctly at all, or is it just that mine (and possibly some others too!) problem?
Embarassed

Should Yannick be bothered by this, or is it already under construction, while mentioned! And, more important, is there a way to get it right?

That's just it. I'd be very happy to spend some time debugging the ogg export. Do you know if there are any plans of making the source (except for wav export of course) available so users can submit more helpful bug reports?

Adding nonsounse helps

Hi there,

have the same problem. Adding some samples to the end of the music helps. It will then be these unwanted sampled that are cut off. No, it's not practical, but at least it works. At least for me, I'm doing extremely simple stuff.

Hope that was helpful,
Grunzzer

Thanks for your messages Grunzzer!

How many samples are required? Is there a magic number involved (e.g. 88,2K samples)? I'm using the tracker for loop-based work, so I need the ogg file to end at exactly the correct point.

You say you need the ogg file to stop at exactly the correct point.
Well, I don't convert my stuff to ogg, but to midi. But since I had the same problem that you describe with the ogg files, I assume that the same trick will have the same effect.

It looks like this:

10 E-3 1 -- -- -- ---- /*last line in your music*/
11 --- - -- -- -- ----
12 --- - -- -- -- ----
13 --- - -- -- -- ----
14 --- - -- -- -- ----
15 --- - -- -- -- ---- /*some empty lines added*/
16 --- - -- -- -- ----
17 --- - -- -- -- ----
18 --- - -- -- -- ----
19 --- - -- -- -- ----
20 C-3 1 -- -- -- ---- /*sample to be cut off anyway*/

In the exported midi (or ogg, i assume) file, you will only hear the track up to line 10, then a few millisecs, then the sample will end with a little cracking sound. What you put into line 20 does not matter (so I believe), because it won't be in the midi/ogg output anyway. It just needs to be some sound. Empty lines don't do the trick

Exact point: Hm, that's difficult. I think you can't control that with the export function of MT2 (at least I could not). What about using an editing tool to modify the ogg file (cutting off the excess)?

Thanks!

Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. The trouble is that it adds an extra step for each loop, and one that can't (afaik) be automated.

I've sent a PM to yannick. If he gets back to me, I'll let you know.

Speed Change Bug

Hi there,

I just found out that when I change the speed of a track with the 0F option, the speed change will be ignored in the midi export.

Sad

Does that apply to OGG files, too?

I haven't tried it, but I expect the problem will be the same. As I haven't heard anything in reply to my message, I'm beginning to think export is not supposed to be fully functional in non-registered versions.

For example, the ogg output seems to go by seconds: if I increase the pattern length by a beat or so, nothing changes, but if I add a bar it will add a second to the running time and cut off there.

I think it may be the problem of free and registered versions of software: in the end the developer has to break existing functionality to make registration worthwhile.

Yes, I think you might be right.

There is software to record from the audio stream. I might try that.
