Yo !
Big thx to Elijah for letting me remix his track "It´s time to move up" !
Can´t say it often enough, you have a great voice!
Well this track is not what I do usually but it was cool doing some kind of dance thing or going beyond 100 BPM .
Anyway it was a lot of fun composing that one!
Have fun and thx a lot my man

to elaborate more, i love when ppl put different chord combinations on songs like this one was 1 chord before. now its like a real song. haha.
plus, chief, thats some sweetass rapping too. you should do more 120 bpm stuff |

Love it !!!!! one of the best production's i hear in ages on the mt forum , great work bro !!!!
Some feedback:
The chord progression is great , the gated (vanguard ?) pads filterings give the track a great atmosphere i love. The beat is awesome for the arrangement, @ some points it reminds me a bit of doktor alban (the intro for sure) which isn't a bad thing at all IMO!!
Points for improvement, the resonance @ the lfx1310 (?) filtering in the intro is still a bit high, and u should reverb a bit on your rap part (which is outstanding as ever) it sounds a bit dry and the track loses it's dreamy atmosphere at that point.
The vocodered parts are also very good, but the high freqs make them sound a bit rough, i would cutdown on the freqs above about 12 k with a 12 db octave filtering or use multiband compression like c3 for that, i guess that'll do the trick ...
In short an awesome track and it's going to be on my mp3 player for a while \o/ |
Music ... is endless ... Work in progress ...

Thx a lot for your feedback guys .
It was so much fun doing something different than what I usually do: Hip Hop Beats.
When the instrumental was done I wanted to export that track already and nearly cut the idea of putting a rap part in it, cause uhhmm.....damn it was nearly 23:30 o´clock and I was lazy...lol.
But then I convinced my inner lazy pig, wrote those lyrics, recorded it and everything and at 0:00 that track was done...lol.
It´s strange...when I record raps for my own tracks which are between 90 and 100 bpm I need 10 to 20 (sometimes more) takes till I´m satisfied.
For this one I only needed 3 and had it done...lmao.
@Elijah: I´m glad you like it and it´s absolutely ok if this one goes on your cd .
Thx again for your vocals and permission.
@Frank: Thx for your advices and recommending Vst´s .
About the Resonance at the start. Well, I already cut some of it after you told me but wanted to leave some of bit either cause for the intro I wanted his voice to change a bit as "it´s time to move up" is said a lot at the intro.
The raps are reverbed...hmm...yeah could be increased a bit, but the entering of the rap part is something which I would/should/could change cause it might take out some tempo.
I got the vocodered parts like that...lol....hmm...but you are propably right bro. High freqs could have been cut a bit.
Anyway, thx guys...glad you like it!
Happy Valentine´s day! |

This piece again reminds me it's possible to make a neat piece with just a few elements. The vocals are repeated maybe a bit too much at the start. The filtering on them is nice. As is after the start too. The gated strings are nice too. The vocoded(?) vocals at three minutes are neat. Maybe I would've liked even a bit more rough vocals. Somehow. Distortion? I'm not a fan of the introduction of the rap part. Vocally I mean. The rapping in itself is great, I can make out the lyrics even (Usually I can't make out the lyrics of even Finnish rapping). The atmosphere is dreamy is calm. The ending is neat. |

yah. the verse lyrics are vocoded. i actually whispered into the mic using double compression, and then vocoded it. I thought i got a nice high shimmery result...
maybe a bit too shimmery, as per franklin, but i like it. and the acapella is also available to anybody else who wants to remix it, just msn me - elijah@madtracker.net
or email me. elijahlucian@gmail.com or PM me |

This SO has remix compo written all over it... or, to make it "fair", record some lyrics and have people remix it. I'm sure it will please everybody.
It's fun to use acapellas in general, but when it's you, a fellow MT user, it makes it all so much interesting and rewarding. |

I will make an Acapella Thread soon, ok? is it ok if its just a chorus sometimes?
and.... to make things more interesting, should i post the accapellas by themselves? or with the original track? I think it could be fun if its just singing, having to figure out the chords by yourselves...
i am registering some webspace soon, so i will definately have enough room for .wav files too, then I can host them for ever!
maybe even if i can i will have some prizes, but im not that rich. |
