I don't like this, I can't put my finger on it because it's mostly an ok track. The ride is completly terrible though, i'd replace and rework that at least.

That bass thing in the left speaker is bugging me. It's distinct electronic feel clashes with all the other sounds that are mostly "real", like the sax. My advice would be to clean out that sound completely.

I think you introduce too many different sounds too fast up until 0.42, where the song "begins". A couple of these are never heard again and can be seen as artifacts.

I don't like the futuristic samples like the vox with "incoming message", since the soundscape I have in my mind is set in the 80's.. Smile

Other than those remarks, it's got a pretty nice vibe to it. I get the dectective-hunting-the-criminal-in-the-night kind of theme, which I think you were going for. It can get good if you work on it some more.

i like this track. its nice and chilled. the sax is nice and the beat is nice. im listening on heads and the bassline is sending me fucking mental. its panned left (unless im going deaf in my right ear :S) anyhoo, you should really centre basses as theyre such an important part of a track (like vox). other than that its a cool track.

Great thanx for all your comments !

Okays the ride/hihats line may be indeed a bit too noisy/chaotic
i'll work on that one.

About the baseline...i use the Triangle2 vst for this and i set the "spread setting" of it to allmost maximum but i had not panned it to the left or something. I agree base lines or drums should be in the center... as far as i hear, the sound has it's high parts starting slightly left en the lower parts in the right chanel.

If i run it trough inspector i see indeed it has a slight Left part ... i'll work on that too. Thanx for noticing!

Yes the sound was indeed intended to be 80's misterious...Smile
the sounds at the start were recorded on my mobile while i was in the Metro in Paris. The 'incomming message' is from the program FMA whitch plays it when i get a new message from Paris. It sounds too clear i admit. i'll try to make it old so it indeed blends in with the rest of the Cassablanca samples

Thanx for your comments so far !
Ps. this is a mutch better way to post songs than the Music option on the website...Maybe we shoud work this out / expand it
