Trance song completely VST; Overtones

Hey,

here is my first attempt at a track completed entirely with Synth1.vst

GOD I LOVE THAT VST

DJ Tiago - Overtones

Everything except the kick and hihats are my own unique samples.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/12/21/538553/DJ%20Tiago%20-%20Overtones.mp3

Here is the link for the file

or you can go to my myspace account:

www.myspace.com/djtiago

and listen to it streamed;

Tell me what you think. Criticism is welcome if need be.

Nicely done with only synth1 =)
I like the mood, feels... star warsy! Don't like the lead too much though!
And the bass is a bit thin imo!
Overall it's a nice tune though =)

How would you suggest I fatten the bass? My thoughts:

1) Raise the volume of the bass instruments
2) Pan it
3) Flange it (a technique which i found fattens it)

or what do you suggest?

As the track is only Synth1 based (except for the kick & hi-hats), why don't you post the .mt2 file online ?

It shouldn't be too large...

Get an EQ vst and fatten the lower freqs. Panning the bas would to nothing since the ear has a hard time localizing bassy things. =)

I would indeed like to see the patches and how the whole track is done. In the "old" module age, all the stuff was released in native format, and this helped newer musicians to learn how to track. I learned how to track that way and I guess most of us did.

Unfortunately, the track size went that big since a few years that releasing them in any other format than .mp3 or .ogg often didn't make sense anymore.

But nowadays, with tracks like yours that heavily rely on small VST plugins we all have, publishing one's track becomes more possible again.

The dawn of a new golden age of tracking ?

this is sweet. is the clap a synth as well? you said the kick and hihat were the only samples. you sure pulled out a lot of sound from that one synth. and.....

perhaps it would be neat to see it all goin down in mt2 Laughing

but copywrite it first, just in case TNK wants to steal it Shocked Laughing Rolling Eyes
