All I can say is AVOID Behriger. I got one and it sucks. I recommend RODE or Neumann, but there are many other good brands. |

Yeah well, which one do you have? How does it perform? When you make vocals is there noise etc? What are the specs of that mic?

Behringer probably isn't all the bad, they're just in the budget market. But hey, you always get some kind of warranty right?
Well, let's look at some features. The C-3 and B-2 PRO both have multiple kinds of pickup patterns, which makes them versatile. The B-1 is more limited in this aspect, but the pattern that it has is cardioid which is probably good for what you want to do. However, if you would ever want to record a guitar for instance, I would buy one with a switchable pattern.
Looking at the frequency responses of the three microphones the B-1 and B-2 PRO seem best. They have the most flat response, which is generally what you want. Both have similar low cut filters and signal to noise ratios.
So basically it now comes down to you to make decision based on budget and needs.
Have you looked at the perception series from AKG btw? |

Suggestion: let us know how it turns out!
One other thing. With these kind of purchases don't keep your budget too strict. It´s a purchase that will last a few years, so it´s worth it to throw some money at it. |

All I can say is that a friend of mine who runs a studio owns a Behringer B-2 pro.
However, he customized it by... putting it's electronic into a broken Neumann and since then his customers believe they record on a Neumann (and no one ever noticed he doesn't).
However, if you check for good deals on the net, you can get even new Neumanns for very cheap prices ( = very cheap prices FOR A NEUMANN, which still means a lot of money).
I've got my Neumann TLM 127 for 900 € and I share it with friends (who paid the half of it). |

AKG should have some pretty good stuff if you look at the price/quality ratio. Like walter vos said, mics are worth putting a bit more into, because they'll last a long time (if treated correctly). |

Why you should: the connector for the XLR cable on my Behringer C-1 stuffed up but I got a friend to fix it for me (It works wonders now ) Depending on your interface, it may generate heaps of noise...
btw the C-1 is a Cardioid pickup Condenser (obviously needing phantom power (POWERRRRRR YUMMM) ) and it comes fitted with a stand adapter. All for $AU90.
I just said "AVOID Behringer" 'cos a mag said to avoid these new cheap condensers offering high quality cheaper than most dynamics |
