The barryvan compo: Now open!

The inaugural round of the barryvan compo is now open.

Competition Deadline Extended to February
Due to the still small number of votes, I have extended the deadline to the end of February (11.59pm on February 29th). Thanks for those who've already entered, and for those who haven't, now's your chance!

What is the barryvan compo?
It's a is a six-yearly competition in which artists compete to produce a piece based on a given "inspiration". Contestants can enter songs in MP3, OGG, or WMA formats. You've got until February 1st to write a piece of music based on the inspiration that's on the front page.

What's the inspiration?
For this first round, I've chosen Edward Lear's poem "The Jumblies". It should have plenty in it for inspiration.

What's the motivation?
Fun and/or profit. No prizes, but bragging rights...

How do I enter?
Simply head over to the website! Alternatively, you can access it through www.barryvan.com.au.

BTW, the competition is run six times per year, NOT every six years, as I might inadvertently have suggested. That is, it runs every two months - one month for writing and entering, and one month for voting. I've received quite a few queries about it. Very Happy

I hope to see some entries from MadTrackers! Very Happy

There are now only three days before entries close for the inaugural round of the barryvan compo! Remember, the theme for this round is Edward Lear's nonsense poem "The Jumblies". Get your entries in by midnight on the 31st of January!

Because of the lack of entries, and people telling me that they've almost finished, I've pushed the deadline back by seven days. The new deadline is February 7th, 11.59pm.

Come on, I need entries! Very Happy
