Stay - Is the volumes OK?

Hi
I just wonder if the volumes are OK in this mix, called "Stay".

All feedbacks are appreciated.

First listen: I think the bassdrum is too loud very often.

Hi,

First of; Nice song and arrangement!

I agree, the basdrum and drums in general are too loud and have to much presence. I guess you want to achieve a nice dynamic, although the song in my ears suggest a more calm and soft approach which the drums do not support.

On my stereo (as opposed to earphones) the bass may be lovered a bit in order to make room for the nice keys and strings in the first part, which to me is the most important.

I've only listened in headphones, but I think the volumes are okay. It's kind of trip-hoppish, which for me means that the drums are a key element; and marks the whole character and groove of the tune..

2nd listen: In my headphones I think it's just a little too loud bassdrums. Sounds sometimes like volume has been raised by doubling up the sample on two channels instead of using volume work.

On my speakers though, it's definately a bit too loud bassdrums in my opinion.

I have to agree that the kick is a bit dominating. But a very nice track. Lovely strings Smile

Wow! I am overwelmed by the feedback I'm getting by posting here! Thanks for all your nice comments and advices!

I've done some volume adjustments to the basskick in the mix (-3db), also adjusted the other drum related samples to better fit the mix. And I added a +1,5db to the el-piano to let it shine better through in the mix.

Same download link as before.

@Souleye: I haven't received any assignments from being registered at Indiegamemusic.com. But I'm still searching for work, so if you know of any game developers in search of music - please put them in contact with me. Smile

Cheers all!

Nice Jammin E-piano and synth there man. Sounds very organic, not like a pattern based peace at all, this has much more feel to it. By the way - Ronneby är en trävlig stad.

Could you guys take a new listen to the final version and tell if the Panflute coming in after the start is "OK" or not?

I'm in doubt... Really want to use the flute, but not sure if it has the right kick.

Any feedback welcomed.

Cheers
