Madtracker and Windows 8

has anybody upgraded to windows 8? had to get a new laptop recently, and i can't seem to get madtracker to work. any suggestions?

had to. old laptop with win 7, which was decent, died. had to get a new laptop, and the only available laptops had win 8.

hm, that does not compute.

Why not to set yourself whatever operation system to computer?
Computers still are backward compatible with older systems to certain point.

what you can do is to stick with a certain chipset which works for madtracker.
and
1. once installed the system you make a backup

and so if computer motherboard is fried then you

1.choose another secondhand computer (not necessarily the same model, but with the same chipset)
2. just put the same hdd, or restore from backup.
3. and you are ready to go, no new drivers needed for mobo.

I had so moved between 3 computers and with less than 70 USD in the last 4 years.

all i have now is the laptop with win 8

too late to do that now? thinking about trying to reinstall madtracker one last time. can't afford renoise or fruity loops, and can't stand the other trackers.

... actually, sunvox was nice, but i couldn't do vst's

just change operating system to this version which worked for you, thats all. and that requires just skill and patience.

Heard about someone, somewhere, who learned from someone else, that a bit torrent version of windows 7 was out there somewhere on one of those top 30 bit torrents webpages. Razz
