spank-new infusion remix + mastering tips?

hey hey!!

i couldn't hold back any longer.. i made a new progressive remix of Infusion - Dead Souls , and apart from sharing with you guys and getting opinions, i'd also like some tips on how to master this track..

are there any settings i could use that are typical to this style of music? i don't know much about mastering myself, apart from what the king himself (pjo) taught me some time ago..

perhaps one of you guys could help me out (i'll give you the MT2 file if you want).. but i'd rather do it myself, since this track was done for a local remix competition.. hence some of the effects sound more professional than the standard MT2 ones, as it hasn't all been made in madtracker.

but in any case, please tell me what you think, and if there can be any changes done.. and if you can- mastering tips?

thanks guys!! *jumping with excitement*

Cool

p.s. i would also appreciate if you didnt share this track to anyone else outside the mt2 forums, until of course the competition results are released.. (next friday i believe is the deadline..)

dl'ing, almighty mikx. I don't know if I can help much, but I'll give it a try if I can find the time. I'll most certainly listen it though Smile

cooooool remix, mate! Dark, proggish, very John Creamer & Stephane K. -ish I'd say (which is good) Smile I can't give any safe mastering suggestions atm. because I only have my crappy plastic boxes connected to my computer, but I think it's safe to say that with a song like this, you should concentrate on the dark side = give the low end space Wink
In fact, on my plastic crap boxes, I think the tune sounds pretty good already. Don't think you have to do that much in the mastering part other than perhaps try to raise the volume a notch (with maximizers, compressors etc).

I have found some interesting documents about mastering if you're interested.

Bob Katz Mastering Tutorial.
and there's the ultimate guide to mastering on Future Music.

Hope this helps you lot out a bit, since you're probably interested in DIY Wink
