Jumping on that MT2.5 bandwagon (sorta)... New tune
Reply with quote

Ever submitted a song to a competition, only to make a song you liked even more two days later?

I have! EDIT: AND HOW WRONG I WAS TO THINK THAT! Called it dead and no longer working, that's what.

It's another attempt at a sort of french techno/dance/house/whatever you wanna call it.

Now, I didn't make this completely in MT2.5, still figuring out what can and cannot be done without running into bugs.
So instead, I did the base melody several times in MT2.5, recording each variaion as wav, and used them alongside MT2.3

Maybe I should've looked into using a VSTi bass instrument... Rolling Eyes

Anyways, it's dead now, ceased to be, and etc. :B

+edit: decided that compo entry is indeed much better

+edit_2: decided that i listened to it one too many times, thus the reason to liking the tune more than my entry at the time... still... Rolling Eyes

EDIT3: Good lord, seems I've slaughtered the link with killing.

thoughts as I listen...

too dry bellish background sounds, nice rhodes play, weird bassline but kinda cool, simple drumprogramming. Overall a pretty funky tune, though it wasn't able to keep me interested all the way.

Conclusion: your compo entry was better (pretty much so) Wink

I wasn't this impressed either by this song, and (to follow Sunbuster) I prefer listening to your compo entry Smile

Hey Lollie. What can i say..Wink
I think some of u'r earlier stuff was better..

But to the point; fresher, funkier beats would be nice(i know u can) 'cus i think it sounds a bit "flat" with such a simple beat when the rest of the tune is so dry. The bassline is cool though,in a quirky kindo' way(i like quirky). The melody sounds good too, but is not cathcy enough to keep it going for the whole tune..
I prefere "Entropica" over this one..

Keep It Up!!! Cool

Heheh, you ain't the only one..

Nah, I think I listened to this tune so many times that I convinced myself that it was better than my compo entry.

But eh, as if I know anything. Rolling Eyes

thats the kicker hey.. your music always sounds different when you're producing it... maybe its because you are 'imagining' things in yourt song that arent there... then when you listen later, the song sounds a little pale.

if you smell...

I think that "past tense" is a totally awesome track. there is nothing wrong with the bassline. it is nice, rolling, and carries the track well. the rhodes organ sounds great, because it has a live sound to it. The drum just makes me want to get down. This track is very reminiscent of Daft Punk in it's filtered house sound, but sounds out of the norm of usual house music.

I love "entropica", it is a great track as well, but I am not gong to start saying that one is better than the other. As of yet, your work is probably some of the best that I have heard on madtracker.org, and I'm not saying that just to say it, I do mean it. It's nice to hear house music that is not just the same as everything else that I hear out there.

Anyway, as I have said about other tracks, I love your work, and please keep going, I want a full albums worth!

Well, thanks Smile
I'm glad that you appreciate my work.

Though, I'm more than aware that there is PLENTY better. Rolling Eyes

Now now, indeed I'll keep going (I need SOMETHING for my portfolio), but I don't wanna torture the rest of the folk here Rolling Eyes

Jesus. I was wondering what this was doing back on the first page.

Thanks, though. Now I can slaughter the link with killing.
