[Yannick: This is moved from the MT3 suggestions box thread.]

Er, I'm getting confused Shocked

a: will mt 2.3 have an undo *and* track naming? I assume mt3 will, but it would also be very nice for mt 2.3

Track naming, `ey?
Although having track names in MT2.3 would be nice, it's all in the name of compatibility.

How would a previous version of MT2 cope with tunes made in 2.3? (For those who just can't let go)
And would a previous versioned tune load correctly?

this would be easy and no problem: MT checks the file for tracknames and if they're not present they get default names (or stay empty, not sure how Yannick implements it). I think you shouldn't be worried about this

Don't worry about that. Wink

Obviously, previous MT2 versions will have troubles reading 64-tracks modules.
But for track naming, there is no problem.

Will there pop up some warning that if they try to load a 64 track MT2 in an older version of MT2 they are recommended to download the new one? And maybe some cheesy link to madtracker.org? Smile

Old MT2 versions will warn you that you are trying to open a module created by a newer version.

Up to you to open it or not. Wink
