COMPO: Write me a chip-present & cheer me up! :D
Reply with quote

My birthday is coming up on 06 December, and I'm going to be putting a foot in the grave, having witnessed the earth spin around the sun 28 times.

This is, as you all probably understand, very traumatic and sad. My life is ending - it's over; I'm kaputt, finito. I Kicked the bucket, drew the short straw, I'm taking the final journey, buying the farm, and all that stuff.

Well maybe. I say maybe, because there is a slight chance I won't jump out of the balcony (10 stories high) or slit my wrists and take a bath, and that is up to YOU!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to write me a happy chip song with samples made ONLY from the tool found here...*

-> http://souleye.madtracker.net/four_cycle_synth.zip <-
(INSTRUCTIONS _NOT_ INCLUDED, AND NO EXPLANATION WILL BE GIVEN! Tool by Nifflas.)

...And send the .mt2 (or XM if that's your thing) to me ( My email is souleye @ comhem.se ) on December 06! If it's happy enough, I will most probably prolong my suffering and misery for at least another year...

* No VST's, and use only the FCS and Madtracker! (Or any xm-producing editor). No "Fancy stuff" for editing.

Here are some example themes you could use, if you choose to let me live:

-

Fluffy bunnies
Yannick's thinking cap
Funky chicken
Inge's pink underwear
Red roses
Binärpilot's complex machinery
Cute dinosaurs
Psypuls' microwaved brain
Big-eyed cartoony girls
Silas rye's redneck BBQ
Troupe's banjo
Powerup on level 2
C-frog's amiga orgasm
Cuddly bears
TNK's french dialect
Green little men from mars
Sunbuster's syrup syringe
Kind monsters
Grl the hsm
Tulip sunstretch

-

Or, if you're Lonestar, you could use one of these themes:

-

Reset button
Germans on the rise
Look ma! No.. *crash* -Ooops!
Death
I've fallen and I can't get up
Nazi rifles
I got caught in the door and it hurts
Evil genious leader

-

Remember: You do not have to use ANY of these themes at all if you have one yourself you'd like to use. Whatever theme you choose, be sure to make it clear in the module!

Judgings:

SoulEye will use his twisted biased opinion himself to sort out the winning songs in order (It's my birthday and I cry if I want to! No fair jurys here!), and will then post it here on this thread with a link to a zip with all entries. This will most probably be some time AFTER my birthday, as I may or may not be busy exactly that day. A friendly hint: the happier the better score. Make it ultrasweet and you will place ultra-high!

Prizes:

No? Don't you like making chipmusic just for the fun of it? What kind of a person ARE you?!

Final corny words:

Good luck, and, good luck!

You might try a sine wave combined with a very short sharp click of a square wave and indeed I'd like to preview the sounds too in some way.

Take a sine wave, and a pitch envelope, going down real fast. Don't know if this synth has an enveloper, but you can also do this in madtracker 02 XXYY (or 01, i can never remember). With some fiddling snares and hihats are also easy to make with noise samples and filters/envelopes and what not. There was a topic about this, but I think it was on the old forum.

what is hip?

Listen up...

Formats: .mt2 or .xm
Maximum file size is 1mb (should be plenty!)
No VST's.
Deadline = 06 December 2004.
Themes *should* (not a direct must!) be cute/happy/both unless you're Lonestar.
Writing in the parameters is encouraged, especially if you include a joke in the textbox! Including pictures is a bonus! Max 3 pics.

Have fun!
