SDCompo Round 64 has begun!

SDCompo is a monthly online multi-format module competition. It is an opportunity for you to compete against trackers from around the world, share and receive feedback on songs and hone your tracking skills!

Check it out at http://www.sdcompo.com/

Entry Deadline for Round 64 is 2012 January 27 00:00:00 *CST

This round's samplepack is provided by chunter who sampled from his Korg Monotron.
Vocal samples are also accepted.

Yes, the compo is still around Smile Going on 6 years! We've been a bit quiet lately as far as promoting the compo, but we've got a lot of interesting changes planned for the coming year. Cralias is working hard on a site redesign, which will allow for more flexibility such as smoother integration with social media sites, and the possibility of "sub-compos" which can be hosted by users themselves. These will run concurrently with the main compo, and will give competitors more freedom to experiment with different sets of rules and limitations.

Not familiar with SDCompo? Check out Remixta Episode 12 ( http://remixta.net/2011/04/remixta-12-sound-devotion-special/ ) which was graciously hosted by Suva and features him and myself chatting and playing some of the fantastic tunes of the first 5 years of the competition.

Or, just come on down and check out the music and community at http://www.sdcompo.com/

We've got lots more exciting changes in store for the coming year. Hope to see you in 2012!

Admittedly, the compo has been very Renoise-centric. But we would like to see more participation from other platforms -- hence the current outreach to many other tracking communities.

I myself have been using Sunvox a lot lately, although it's not allowed yet in SDCompo (until we decide how to handle its internal synthesis capabilities).

I hope to see you guys there!

.... prizes? bragging rights, obviously

i assume this is just for fun, and to get people making more, being more creative, which is cool.

Exactly... There's never been any prizes, although we have thrown the idea around. It is possible in the future there may be prizes such as vst plugins, similar to how they do it at the KVR OSC - http://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/

But yeah, it's a lot of fun.. A great community and motivation to write songs. I've made some really great friends because of it as well. Very Happy
