New Plugins?

Is it only me or has anyone else the problem that some of the newer plugins (Freeware) not work.

Sometimes the plugin don`t even load, Madtracker does not recognize it or it shuts down after a while?

I`m on Windows 7 64bit, could this be a problem.

I managed to get a decent collection of Plugins for every aspect of music making so it is not a problem in General.

I`m just interested if this Plugin problem is only on my pc, or did someone else have problems too?

Maybe i should switch back to XP everything was so much better back then. And when i say everything i mean everything. Confused

MadTracker is a 32-bit app. It can't access 64-bit .dlls, if that's what's happening.

If you want to try Win7 32-bit or XP again, it was better designed for it.

No, i meant 32-bit Plugs.

The weird thing is that the plugins work in OpenMPT, so it must be madtrackers incompatibility with win 7 64bit or something else.

Maybe some of the newer plugins have another code they are written in or something, i don`t know, the plugins in the plugin section here on madtracker forum work. (at least the ones i tried)

Or some other program is enterfiering with madtracker.

Since i have set up everything properly on my notebook i`m to lazy to set up Xp again, i made a compromise here and there because of the plugin issue but im satisfied all in all.

Just wanted to ask you guys. Smile

Knowing you, I'd think you'd know that about 32-bit plugins Razz

Yeah, MadTracker hasn't had its VST API updated in years, while OpenMPT is the current one.

(hint hint Yannick Razz)

Ah, ok. thanks . Smile

It would be really cool if someone wants to spend some work on madtracker that it is up to date.

Can you imagine:

Mad Tracker: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Unknown Tracking programmer. Its mission: to explore strange new sounds, to seek out new tones and new acoustics, to boldly go where no Wo/man has gone before.

Very Happy
