Strange instrument-filter bug

This has never happend before. In the instrument window, switching on the low or high pass filter actually affected all the channels linkt to the one the instrument was playing on.
Sort of a "global" filter.. Quite cool actually

(The main channel has reverb on, if it matters) Cool Rolling Eyes Confused

Yeah this one always confuses me much, as it is an instrument effect and not a track effect. If you would want it on all the linked tracks, you could just use the filter track effect, so I think this bug is NOT cool.
I use the instrument filter often on drums to boost the trebles, but as I link drumtracks to one reverb track, suddenly all my drums get a treble boost (at the moment the filtered instrument plays). It seems not to matter to have a track effect on that track when it occurs, it happens with or without reverb.
Only solution I've found for this is to give all the drumtracks the same Reverb track effect (raising CPU usage quite a lot) and link them to Master.

Dunno why this happens though... Yannick do you have a clue?

Ah, I run into this problem nearly all the time.
Well, actually, it's not a problem at all.
I think it's great! Excellent stuff.

Resonant reverb... Nice ambience kind of stuff Cool
I think I've used it to my advantage in a few of my tunes... None that are online though.

I've got an idea on how the track resonance thing works, but I can't explain it. Rolling Eyes

If it's something you DON'T want, well, just use the separate track effect idea.
But if you've got a track filter automation thing going, that'll mean extra work.
And extra work is always a pain in the butt. Rolling Eyes

This bug is by design. The instrument filter is applied on the track actually.

the only point were I don't like it, is when I have a synth sequence were the instrument has an filter and volume envelope that sustains a bit. Then when I set NNA to note-off all the filter sustains are changed when a new note starts to play ( so a new filter envelope starts ). It would be nice to intergrate the filter fx the same way that the volume does ( 4x poly : volume envelope keeps on going until the 5th note is played ).

But I guess that will mean that we will lose the 'global filter'
