Blaster:   Bad

At first the song sounded like a game or demo tune, till the panflute begins to play. This gives the song more ambience and makes it sound more like it comes of a soundtrack. Overall the song has a nice tranquil feeling.

There's plenty of positive things to say about this tune. To start with, the melodies are very relaxing, especially the panflute is nice. It all sounds very nice together and the instruments complement eachother well. Another good thing is the duration of the tune, it last for 3 minutes and 31 seconds which is in my opinion a very good length for most songs and in this case there's no extra patterns to lengthen it unnecessary. The drumtrack is also very nice giving it a bit of a exotic touch.

There are however some unnatural note cuts which luckily aren't very obvious in the mix. Further more there are no chords in the song. Although there's still a stringinstrument and 3 tracks are used, they're not playing at the same time and they don't really work out as an arpeggio. chords can really set the mood and strengthen an already good tune (listen to Awesome's Ancient Stories for a good example). The deeper kick part in the middle of the track wasn't necessary because it's very brief and it doesn't add to the total. In fact it's a bit distracting.

In the end I find this a better than average song, it gave me some good ideas and inspiration and that is very important to me in music.
