This is pure massive fatness and madness. I love the overall sound of this, since the samples are just so good and the eq-spectrum is so nicely filled. Furthermore, I like the fact that the main theme seems to runs to and from without settling down for one fixed idea.

The downside, most probably, is that this has been down a plethora of times before. I'm not into trance so I can't tell for sure, but I can imagine many others having done the same thing. Isn't there any way to implement a certain unique x-feature to lift your track above this mass? For instance, Darude did something pretty intelligent in their Sandstorm-track by using this uniqea lead instrument. Consider doing something similiar in whatever way, because then this track would pwn the world as we know it. Huh!

This track is a true trancer. Reminded me a bit of Sasha's Xpander from back in 1999. That track features a similar kind of constantly moving main theme. Also used the flanger in order to do this. Your track in the end though sounds a bit too regular to really raise an eyebrow like Xpander did. It's missing that something extra.
Maybe if the track wasn't using the instrument it is now for the lead, because that sounds a bit too regular for me. Comes dangerously close to be labeled typical trance strings by yours truly.

But in general a very clubworthy track if you ask me. I'd sure dance to it if it was playing Smile

thanks for the feedback! im glad you guys like it as well.
i agree it has a fairly generic trance sound. before i got all phasertastic on its ass it sounded like trance 101 by dj trance by numbers (i made that up Very Happy ). i think over the next few weeks ill try and add that extra element to it.
thanks again.

i posted this track ages ago and ive only now had the time to pick it up and finish what i started.

http://am1.madtracker.net/AM-1_open_eyes.mp3

i ramped up the kick and the percussion, made it a bit longer and played around with some breakdowns and things. im really happy with it (especially the part at 7:06). i would love to know what anyone thinks, or if there are any production tips.

thanks again

andy

(im going to work on a more unique sounding lead when i get my new comp, as per feedback from the last time i uploaded it).

Remains absolutely massive. The percussion and drums work really well (it appears to be common criticism of me on your other track, so it makes sense to point out that this track has working beat-programming), and the main melody (and all its little changes) are splendid.

The production is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wide! \o/ I love listening this track. Like G3ronimo (implicitely) said: this would definately work as an atmospheric track that people would associate with their summer. I would, atleast, if I was into trance, sixteen, and having some odd summer holiday romance. Therefore: well done!

thanks guys. i agree it def has a summery feeling, quite chilled out chords i think.

inge - the drums/percussion is one of the things that this forum has helped me sort out, it was def one of the problems with my tracks. ive made it my mission to prove that madtracker is equal to FL/reason etc for producing trance (better in terms of creativity) and it seems im getting closer with each track.
breaker - not a weird question at all, it took about 20 - 30 hours spread over a couple of months to complete. alot of work went into getting the fx right (the chords and melodies took only an hour or so).

thanks again

andy
