I guess this is where this thread would go.........
When you save a project as an .mt2 file, what exactly is saved? Are the wav bytes you used saved in it?
Reason I ask is, when I save a file down here on this computer, then port it up to my computer upstairs, if it can't find the VST it won't load it. But I've gotten some .mt2 files from some of you music nuts and they loaded fine. Did you work only with wavs, and did MT save the wav information in the .mt2 file? |

MT saves the WAV files in the MT2 file unless you marked them as "keep on disk", in which case it'll only store a (relative) path to the file.

the mt2, by default, saves everything into the file except vsts, you need to load vsts into that directory beforehand.
its actually kind of interesting, the wavs get actually saved at the start of the file, you can open an .mt2 in cool edit or whatever, and you can see the samples as you would a wave file. |

Yet another reason to export sounds to wav files and use the wav files in a song, rather than using VSTs in the song itself.
Also, it's easier to use portamento, cut the note off, etc. when you're using wav files. I STILL don't know how to make a Slayer 2 note stop playing. |
