big big big dilemma! you see, i'm planning to submit a track into the compo, which initially was supposed to be a rather big sounding remix of green velvet's 'lala land'. but the compo requires originality, so remixes are out of the question. so i need to replace the vocals with something else (preferrably other vocals). what i wanted to try is inserting some robot-like vox a'la daft punk. you know the ones! but i'm not 100% sure how to make them. sounds like a vocoder and auto-tune is used, but really i have no idea..? can anyone help? how do i make this sound? (note, i don't have a MIDI setup, so i won't be able to do that use-autotune-with-keyboard thing..) mikx

Prosoniq orange vocoder. Amazing sounding vocoder, including chord choosing stuff to make the vocal continue the melody of your song. As for real autotuning: if I'm not mistaken, I used Antares Autotune in the past with some success to achieve that result. Both Orange Vocoder as Autotune can be used without midi automation. Inge
