Well, I had an artistic outbreak feeling today and along with some stupid nonsens drawings, poems and photo's I decided to make music.
Well.. I experimented... My goal was to make something with probably the most limitation there is. 'Cause limitation leads to innovation. If you don't have much you have to use everything you got.
For a started I only used 4 samples. I used a Sine, a Saw, a Square and a Snare. This version contains different samples, I don't really know why actually...
Anyway, all the samples had to go on one track. No special track for the Saw, Sine, Square or the Snare. Everything just had to be in the same place.
I really had fun making this. You should try it to sometimes.

restrictions are cool, especially in this age of millions of free vst(i)'s and samples to be found on the net. What I sometimes like to do is, limiting the amount of effect renders in wavelab or force myself to do a specific amount of edits/renders.
like the idea track, you could build on this further making other compulsitory elements

Very nice. I like it. Quite alternative sounding, which might mean it's inspiring. I think this one was. I enjoyed the somewhat upbeat feel of the melodies. |
