Turning VST on/off with automation

Does that kinda function exist in MT? I know you can turn VST off with that apparent "on" button, but I would like a way to only turn them for a part of a song. Possible somehow?

It should at least be posible to set the effect to nothing in the VST automation.

So I guess that means there's no cool workaround.

There is but it is pretty much just making a sample of 0 volume or near 0 volume, and playing it when the main instrument isn't being used. I get some kind of cpu feed back that slows down the tune. Not exactly sure why this happens, maybe it's a look ahead feature on the vst, but that is a bad guess at best. the playing of the near 0 volume sample helps out in that respect.

seting volume to 0 with automation is not good thing, i need that "turn off/on" function too, sometimes some VST effect or instrument is not used in part of the song, but it takes much CPU power even if its muted with volume seted to 0.

Isn't it possible to route the VST or play the sample to another track? (the generator not the effect)

Ah U want to save up cpu time (like u told me in msn)
Well i don't know how to control the on/off feature of the vsti/e with auotmation/code.

What can be done ofcourse is to control the mix function/knob inside the vste with automation (most Vste's have a mix control) to set fx "on" or "off" ..

Music ... is endless ... Work in progress ...
