Hi all!
I downloaded Ansgaros's Blackmetal guitars 2002 -set (http://ansgaros.net/2002bms/) yesterday and have now a problem with using it.
There is a separate instrument for each way of playing and for two guitars: open and palm muted power chords (both also with tremolo) etc. Then each instrument has every chord or note in a separate sample. This is the way distorted guitars are usually instrumented (I don't know the proper word) and if you ask me, the way they should be. But in this pack, there really are LOTS of samples: palm muted power chords for guitar one has 67 samples, for example. This is why the pack is so neat, but also why it becomes a problem. If I want to use open and palm muted power chords and single notes in a song, it makes 4 instruments and some 256 samples (which is the limit according to the help file). And I still haven't loaded drums and bass and other stuff yet...
Anyone know a solution (other than removing samples during making a song which is not really good idea) or a way to circle this problem?
I have tried to find a VST that could play ITIs or MTIs but found only one (which is commercial and I don't have a credit card).
So, now I'm out of ideas |

Are you experiencing a problem, or are you expecting a problem? Did MT produce an error message?
Maybe you could try to find only the samples you want to use in each instrument and then save them to disk, discard the instrument (along with the samples you dont need) and reload the samples you do need.
Also the cleanup function might help you
using a VST sampletank might also help you |

Well, there were no messages, but the program started overwriting samples as I opened new instruments.
About re-making these instruments; I'm pretty sure that it's a bit difficult process with that many samples especially when I should do it again every time I make a new track... Besides, I can't know which notes I will need before making the song.
Cleanup can't help me either, hard to explain why ^^'
Sampletank is something I haven't tried. Is there a free one available somewhere? Tried to search but with no results. |

I use one VST sampler called Paax 2 a lot to play soundfonts and it works well but what I actually need would be called "instrumenter". (Paax can't play MTIs)
After all I think I'll try re-making those instruments someday. I looked a bit more carefully and it seemed as if there were unused samples (that could not be removed, not even with cleanup)
Thanks for your time and help |
