my 2 pence worth anywayone?

The community started loosing its appeal years ago, all the great masters dissapeared, it's just left the software, but I'm afraid Renoise is soo powerful and flexible these days MT2 just hasn't kept up to date...

let hope that mt3 project that has been ongoign for around 7 years finally arrives Wink

goooo yannick!

Really? I'd say it's more about the product.

The 'community' is just an occasionally useful bonus.

David.

I disagree. -the community is not a bonus but the heart of a programm - depending on the product.
Of coure there will be no community for a soap or a shampoo,
but products like music-programms need a community

i hate signatures Wink

New to MT2

I'm relatively new to MT2, brought semi-out of retirement by an old scener friend. So see? The community is still growing. In fact, now that I've been using it for a few months, I went ahead and registered it today out of appreciation to Yannick!

I'm an old IT user, so transitioning to MT2 was a little tricky, but it's really well done and only took a few days to get a good handle on it. There always seems to be so much depth to the tool, all sorts of ways to bend it to what I want it to do.

Pretty much I'm a total convert.

If you are interested in what I've done with it, check out http://fulcrum.antisoc.net/music (all the songs I've posted there are done in MT2).

Maybe with madtracker 3 ( whoever develops it ) you could have like a cartoon drummer and keyboarder so you can watch your songs being played. Sometimes I get bored just watching the tracks scroll or listening in windows media.

Something where you could pick avatars to play your music so you can be more involved creatively.

Some music notation options would be good too. It would be cool if madtracker 3 was a more artsy program. It's an awesome piece of software. Quite remarkable. But sometimes I feel like a machine when I use it.

Long live madtracker and it's community!

No offence, but that's the last thing I would want the developers to put their energy on...
