Has commercial melodic trance written all over it. Follows pretty much the standard setup of trance songs, intro, first climax, break, second climax, outro. The outro was perhaps a bit dissapointing, as it was a simple fade away. I would have prefered a proper ending, but to be honest, the fade out worked pretty well on this track. The theme was a pretty familiar one. I could almost guess each note before it was played.
One thing I'll say right away, the kick is way too low, or is a wrong choice of samples. There's no punch in it. It might sound good on a system with a subwoofer because it seems the kick goes pretty low, but on most system, including mine, there's not enough punch in the 80-140Hz range from the kick. Result: the kick sounds weak, and is barely audible.
Otherwise the mix is pretty good, and the samples are of good quality, although not very revolutionary. However, seing as the track is a bit of a resource hog, with 16 or so reverbs playing, it would have been good to route effects as much as possible. Channels 00,01 and 02 could all have been routed to one channel with one reverb for instance, as they all have the same settings. Even my 2600+ Athlon XP had problems with the track at times.
Well, overall, if you like commercial trance, this one is for you. Technically, it's not a bad song at all, but it's one of those you've heard a million times before, especially if you're into trance.
