Sounds like: any deephouse tune at 5 am in a dark bunker at an illegal houseparty. Good: -Atmospheric theme with a nice deephouse feeling. -The repetitive identity of this song works for creating a rather hypnotising listening experience. -Good vocals. -Good sound quality. The bassline and the pad do their work very nicely. The bassdrum could use some more depth though. Points of attention: -the snare is quite irritating. I am trying to enjoy the deephouse blend, but the snare keeps telling me that drowning in the music is not allowed. -A bit more excitement might be nice. Eventhough we're talking deephouse here, repetitive doesn't simply mean 'no changes shall be made, or death shall follow'. Some slowly evolving transitions would add to the overall listening experience. | ||||||||||||

Parental guidance adviced =P Cool sampled, hmm, female vocals. This tune is precicely what I'd imagine being played on some poolparty afterclub thingy. Nice deep bassline, sleasy drums, and a simple layout. Technically it's not a very demanding song, but still it works. The main issue I have with this tune is instr. 0B. It doesn't fit the song at all imo, disturbs the dark sex lounge feeling of the song. I'd leave it out completely. The mix is pretty good, I like the punch in the kick, and I like the deep bassline (said that already). The background pads I think could be a bit more up front. They're almost inaudible now. The vocals are perhaps used a bit too often. Breaking away from them completely sometimes with some melodysnippet or some fx stuff could have been good. The song gets a bit too repetitive as it's now. I can imagine this one being played in the late hours at some house club, when everyone's getting horny and wants to... :) |
