Sounds like: Nalin & Kane

Good:
Very transparant production. Professional sound. Minimalistic but very entertaining. Makes me think of Nalin & Kane's 'beachball', which also asked a lot of time before I started enjoying it. Andy Williams finished Funktional with a nice Chicane sauce, making it easier to get into. Would be most interesting to hear on a beachparty while sun goes down. Not a floorfiller, but definately a treat for the music fanatics with an eclectic taste. I feel invited to group myself into tha second group. Been going to Ibiza lately, Andy?

Points of attention:
I love this style. Period. I could ask for a louder and more distinct bassdrum, for a more 2004-sound instead of the current 1998-sound, or more fast-moving filters. But I won't. I dig this track as it is.

Some dark prog tranceish stuff. I like instr. 14 and the way it's used. Gives the track this kind of mysterious atmoshpere. Togheter with the choir they really set the mood for the track.

The overall mix of the track is great. Nice panning, everything has it's place. I find nothing that would tear my ears appart, nothing that would be too quiet. The overall volume however is a bit low, especially when I see that most faders are below half of their full capacity. They could all have been pushed up a bit without problems.

I'm not so sure of the suitability of instr. 10. Imo it lacks a bit too much bass. It doesn't quite fit either imo. Overall also the track sounds a bit sharp, a lot going on in the high end. Some more in the mid-range would have been good. One solution could be to lower the hihats and percs a bit, that way the leads would get more space.
The track is pretty repetitive, and thus perhaps a bit too long for it's own good.

Overall, nice, I understand clubbers that like this one. Wouldn't mind a mastered version ;)

Fair sound quality, more than descent mix, but with too much high end and not enough bass - the artist should get himself a good pair of monitors, I think he could round off his work to something really professional that way. The composition as such is simplistic, but very elegant and with no apparent flaws. I expect this track will rank highly, at least in the top 10 (provided the reviewers figure out how to turn up the volume - this track is extremely soft).
