hmmm, starts of kind of mellow, goes into, well, melodic trance I guess would be it.
there's a weird shift in the theme at pattern 30 about. The tune changes direction almost completely, goes into something that could be called demo music. I guess this is an attempt to a break, but to be honest, imo it didn't work that well. The shift in the theme is too big, it's almost as if it's a new tune. Other than that, the tune follows a pretty basic trance structure, with intro, first climax, break, second climax. The ending was a bit abrupt, compared to the intro at least. It feels as if the tune runs into a brick wall with the ending...
The basskick is too low, you barely hear it's there. There's also a bit too much going on in the mid-range at times, the soundscape gets cluttered. This could be corrected to some extent by using more panning on the instruments. The piano for instance could probably be beautifully stretched over the whole stereo range. The piano btw. seems to be one of the main reasons for the cluttered soundscape. I'd try using a faster decay on it. Overall the tune lacks a bit too much in the bassregion. I'd like a more defined bassline, and a punchier kick.
The vocal sample is of pretty good quality, it worked well with the tune, but was perhaps used a bit too often. I liked the piano melody in general, reminded me a bit of Scooters earlier work.
The tune has potential to be very good, but technical issues and that somewhat weird break in the middle are the biggest barriest against success. Keep it up though, the potential is definetly there.
