Bright jazz with minor Bonobo feeling. Good: Nice melodies and instrument variations. Scratching gives a nice face to the whole song. Points of attention: Beats need some more shuffling and variation for a more grooving effect. Song is very short; a real composition thus is lacking, since only one main theme is used. It makes it hard to speak of a real song; it's more like a nice idea that has been worked out, but that still needs the integration into a complete song. | ||||||||||||

jazz/triphop? I'm not sure where to put it, but I think it belongs, if not in the jazz category, then at least very close to it. Even if this category isn't as well represented as the trance category for instance, I can't help but feel that the lead melody is very familiar. I simply know I've heard it before, but can't place it anywhere. Anyway it's a nice melody. Also like the background melodies, they work well with the lead. sample quality isn't the best, but since all samples are about the same quality it's not that audible. Again however I would have wanted more panning being used, and again especially the drums could have benefitted from it the most. But if you use one loop for most of the drum section then I guess there's not much to do about it. Overall, a good track, but technically perhaps not that outstanding. | ||||||||||||

Very nice scratch sounds and dusty vinyl feel. Some sounds (is that a clarinet or a trumpet or something else?) are too weak and "midi" sounding. |
