Genre: glitch

Nice, neurotic, fast & versatile track. Wouldn't do that bad on Aphex Twins Drukqs (it would actually be better than the lot on that - ed) or work by Squarepusher. Very transparant, clear & crispy production. Beats are very well laid down.

Great break at 2.10, where the speed goes 50% down and some charming rhodes and a freaky voice enter the track. Moves into a more distinct drum 'n bass area after the third minute, although the low frequencies are lacking for that purpose. The melodies touch upon modern jazz and fusion, which is definately very okay.

Nice outro at 4.45 with a typical NES-game feeling. Overall a nice track that won't change many lives, but which definately works. Not easy though due to the absence of a distinct theme and the unconventional genre.

Richard Jonas made this great piece of electronic free jazzy goodness for us al to enjoy!

I like how the beats are all worked out, great stretch effects, combined with filters and good panning the rhythm is surely taken care of. Also you did wonders with the tempo effects, great stuff!
All samples sound crystal clear and the VST's realy blend in the song, the mixdown is also realy good and snappy. Although I think you did a real bunch of pre-prosessing.

But, there are a few little things I kinda missed, I miss a certain theme in the track, and by theme I don't realy mean a repeative supersaw trance lead or something, no I mean a certain structure in the song itself. You now introduce all kinds of wonderfull sounds and passages to us, but you don't realy let some come back or stick with some. But, this could be your intention all along.

Anywayz, great work on this track, I realy like it!
Keep it up!

Cool. In one simple word. I really like the mixture of D'n'B:ish beats and the game music theme. Seems game music is pop this year though.

The beats are all good. Sometimes they may get a bit over exited, but they manage to stay in their boundaries pretty well anyway. The track sports a stereomix also where all things have their well defined place, which is good.

Unfortunately, what this song lacks somewhat is a base structure that would support it all the way through. The track sounds very split up, it's very hard to hear that this would be the same song all the way through. It's more like a quick radio mix that goes through the top 50 in 10 minutes. Well, maybe not quite that bad, but hopefully you get the drift.

Interesting song, but a bit too messy.

Richard Jonas provides us an experimental D&B track. So the points I'll focus on will more be on what I expect of such tracks : originality, atmospheres... And I must say that Richard manages to create a very special mood. To be honest, it gave me a quite sick feeling - a feeling I do *not* like - and after listening 2 it a couple of times in a row, I had the feeling Inge made me smoke half of the netherlands Ganja production... However, I'll try to review it as honestly as I can.

Originality : Clearly this one is not the stuff you hear on mainstream radio every day. Even within the D&B universe, it has his own special mood, and is hard to compare to anything else for non D&B specialists. A point worth to notice : While it sometimes *seems* random, I can clearly feel that there is very few randomness within this song and that the composer, while being very experimental, knows what he does. So even the parts that seem completely sick do not sound amateuristic at all. A great original work. Probably not the one that will make it to the top of the billboard charts (Obviously, you don't want 2 work 4 Britney...), but surely some people the undergound will like.

Theme : OK, even considering the style, it was hard to give more than a 7 here. While the "theme" works within that style of music, it still sounds too weird to me. A good theme is still something more catchy to my ears. So a 7 because to be true, except for some parts at the beginning & at the end, I found almost no theme at all in this one. But is this the kind of song that requires an ultra-catchy melody ? Obviously not, and the very few I found were far from being uninteresting, so it will be a 7 (but of course, it I had to review it as I usually review pop/dance stuff, it would not exceed a 2, but pop/dance is obviously not what you wanted to acheive with this one).

Arrangement : Weird, fast and creative. It's hard to comment and/or to give hints here as this song is so special that you can't compare it to standards. The best thing I could say is : Download it and listen 2 it.

Technical : Mixing is clear, nice & original use of softsynths & FXs, Just a bit too many loops for my taste. Couldn't you track those loops within MT2 ?

Quality & Global : An 8 despite the headache it gave me. Obviously the guy knows what he wants and I see no reason 2 flame him down, even if this one will probably be used more as a weapon of mass neighbour disturbtion rather than a song I'll listen 4 my own listening pleasure (Notice : Consider I was in a good day when I reviewed this)
