hmm, a blend of breaks and going towards bigbeats somewhat. I guess even some darkcoreish elements. I sence some Prodigyish beats in there. The track reminds me of some of their earlier work like "Charly says" and "Out of space". Overall the track has a nice eery atmoshpere.

The track is a too long. It doesn't have enough to carry all the way through and is too repetitive I think. Also, the turntable scratch or swoosh or whatever you'd like to call it gets on my nerves a bit. It doesn't quite fit imo and is used too often. I think I would have liked a bit more boom to the basskick also. It sounds a bit like a cardboard box now.

I like the snare/percussions in this track. They do good in giving the track some speed. Too bad they're loops though.
I also like that the stereofield is used to give an extra dimension to some of the instruments.

In the end a nice one again, but not quite cutting it.

Hmm... the 2nd song created by "Ben hudson" according to the info box... piracy somewhere ? (this doesn't mean that YOU are the pirate, maybe the other entrant is).

Let's get back to musical considerations :

Originality : Very original D&B track with an extraordinary amount of sounds here and there making this track feel alive. An exemple many trackers who entered that compo should follow...(especially those I described as "average" simply because their songs didn't have any special in it that drew my attention to it. This entry, even being lightyears from the kind of music I usually listen, cannot leave it's listener unmoved).

Theme : The very few themes that are here and there are both catchy and original, definitely fitting perfectly to the whole song's mood.

Arrangement : Original & creative. A great one.

Technical : No obvious frequency overlaps, great use of MT's abilities. Great mixing.

A great entry simply about which I have very few if nothing to complain about...

Question : Don't you think this one would perfectly be suitable for a Tim Burton movie ? I think so !

oldskool sounding breakbeat track.

originality - combines old school breaks and big dark sounding pads and melodies, with some more modern elements.
theme - dark was the intention and it was achieved, has an almost prodigy - experience sound to it which is very difficult to achieve.
arrangement - a slightly too long intro leads into a constantly chopping and changing track, which flow together pretty seamlessly.
technical - the track is good, mixing is nicely done, a fairly minimal sound fills still manages to fill out the track nicely. use of vsts is done sparingly but effectively. the resonant filtering on the bassline sounded excellent (not enough in the track though). some more creative filtering on the bassline would have improved the track as it did sometimes sound quite flat.
quality - good samples and everything sounds clear and well separated. only the kick sounded a little muddy (i think a matter of taste though).

overall a well executed prodigy-esque dark breaks track that could be vastly improved with creative filtering of the bassline.
