Blue sense is the track that c-frog submitted, it has this nice and cosy 80's feel over it, combined with some 'nu-pop' ( yeah I make all these genres up on the fly :) ) and demo music stuff...

Overall it's nice!
It has some nice recorded and produced vocals, and the mix is quite good. The arrangement is also pretty good, I like this track!
The only thing is my computer doesn't! ;)
I have a P4 3ghz with 1 gig ram and it won't play nicely without stutters, just a minor flaw...

the thing that you could work a little more on is the rhythm section, try to spice it up a little because it's a bit shallow at the moment.

Keep it up!

Well, some nice playing with vocoders going on here. The track has a nice uplifting beat and the overall atmosphere is very nice. I know it sounds cheesy, but every time I listen to it I find more details I didn't notice earlier. I like the break at about 4 minutes. Has a lot of nice small details going. I especially like that the piano plays some very low keys also, something people tend to forget. It gives a nice sence of power to something that's actually pretty calm compared to the rest of the track.

I do think however that there is some unbalance between the instruments. The bassline seems to get too much attention when it hits the high notes whereas the vocoded vocals seem to be more of an fx in the background. The only vocals that I understood clearly was the "be proud" part. Unfortunately this also made it a pretty repetitive song as far as the vocals are concerned.
The basskick is good, I like the snappines of it, but I feel it could have used more power, more of an oomhp also. Since the bassline is one that works party as a percussion also, the basskick get's a bit lost in it.
The piano is perhaps a bit too far in the background. It probably has a bit too much reverb on it and thus tends to dissapear a bit. It's playing a nice melody, and in my ears does a lot to set the mood of the track. That's also why I feel it's a bit of a shame to have it hiding in the background like it's now.

Somehow I feel like all the instruments are like highschool kids who don't quite dare to take the space they deserve. The only two who dare to take the space are the two popular kids, the snare and the bassline.

Overall though this is a good track. Clean up the edges a bit and it's a keeper.

Our Color-freaky frog strikes back. After some yellow sawtooth waves and other colorfull entries, let's get into the blue realms.

Originality : Not much to say here. This guy knows what he does, mixes some chip elements with some other very pro stuff. He has his very own style. Of course, it's not 100% original stuff, but almost. Almost perfect on this issue then.

Theme : No real distinct theme that catches you from the 1st listening, and the best parts like that lead sine sound come in much too late, but it's a song that grows in you and which has some very original melodies that make you come over and over again.

Arrangement : Probably one of the best arrangements around. All is very pro. Dozens of layers that perfectly blend together I just listened to your song after listening to Madonna's latest album and I think your track would have it all to make it on her next album. You can be proud of you on that issue. Original, dreamy, professionnal. An exemple for the upcoming generation of trackers. Just compress it a bit and send it to some electro labels (or if you've got more of it's kind, contact me!) and I'm sure a deal will come quite soon.

Technical : I would have given you a 10, but after noticing that you could have done the same stuff using less CPU power, It will only be a 9. But this is just some "Give no 10/10 niggling", as except for that CPU issue, everything is perfect.
I like how you mix the chip sounds with the more pro gear. Great stuff !

Globally : Great music ! One of this year's top 10 entries !
No hints to that composer - he does not need my hints - except to try to get it into the professionnal business.

a vocal breakbeat track with professional production and a very good overall sound.

originality - some creative use of old tracker styles, a decent beat and combination of acoustic and synthesised instruments add a nice colour to this track. there are hints of inspiration by the more recent Hybrid releases.
theme - a very smooth overall theme, quite melancholy and uplifting throughout. the vocal suits the production of the track very well.
arrangement - with a vocal a clear structure has been laid out and it is executed well. the transitions are clear and flow very nicely. each section is nicely produced with a good use of the spectrum.
technical - vst effects are used expertly, the madtracker effects are also used liberally and help fill out the track. production on the vocal is very good, the vocodered section in particular, however it could do with being a bit more prominent in the mix as it is so well produced. the only real area for improvement would be to eq the kick as it currently punches through the mix and dominates the track (although this may be on my monitors) and also to put a little reverb on the percussion. The bass is also a little heavy at the bottom end and could maybe do with a bit of eq'ing and compression to sort this out. also i picked out some side-chain compression on the drums which works very well.
quality - is absolutely superb throughout, samples are all excellent, the production and use of effects enhances the mix to a pretty much professional quality.

summary - absolutely superb sounding track both on the expert production and the very catchy song itself. only a couple of almost inconsequential production issues and the similarity in sound (vaguely) to hybrid drop points.
