Hard Kandy by Joshua Kellermeier, it's techno.
It's a good arranged track with some old tracker FX's, but none of them are madtracker.
It's good techno, I like it but it lacks some madtracker quality, I can't seem to get the idea out of my mind, that this whole track is made in Fastracker and then converted to MT2.
Maby it's because of the XI instruments, maby because of the lack of madtracker features I don't know.
Anyhow, the trak buildup is great, although the beat is just so simple, why not use a good drumloop, it fills the hole track up!
Your synths are great, but there isn't a real theme in this track, it seems more like a compilation.
but anyhow, try experimenting with Madtracker and your tracks can get that profy layer to them!

Let's go back in time; atleast that is what this song does to my perception of tracked music. The acid-techno which Joshua displays here is like I'm listening to a 1992 4-track mod. All the cliche's of the begin-90's tracking scene are here; note cutoff at a acid sound to produce a 303 effect, standard beats with a rather hard snare at every 8th count and a structure with loads of melodies but no real main theme. Because of the many melodies which are used the overall structure is unclear, and it all sounds like numerous fragments of different songs have been ligated together. Positive are the tecniques ,the diversity among samples and the variations.
To the artist; please be original. The whole song really sounds dated, which surely can't be the goal in this line of music. Try listening to modern acidtechno (dave the drummer, CJ imperium or most things from the stay up forever label) and see how things are done nowadays. Try focussing on the goal of the song; use one lead melody or general atmosphere as the base of your song, and build it up from there. Use new, refreshing instruments; if you want to replicate the 303 sound, use rebirth or rubberduck or be damn original & creative with what you do to the acid-sample. Last; don't transpose open hihats. Sound like the batteries are low of a walkman.
