An ambient tune in the field of dance music...must say you need some guts to do so. Although I have some affinity with ambient, this song surely isn't appealing to me. The overall mix is okay, the whole song has some strong samples and sounds rather professional, but their have been made some mistakes. Both the bassdrum and the snare don't sound the way they should; the bassdrum is too synthetic, and the snare needs more accent. The overall structure is rather chaotic; the song starts right off, then falls back into a rather boring bridge (including a cheesy piano lead) and leads the song to a final part. Nice thing is a ticking clock sample in the bridge, which adds some mood/atmosphere. The melodies, which are plenty appearant, also didn't create the right atmosphere which is a very important thing in this genre. Problem is that the whole song sounds to damn synthetic. It misses warmth! And what is a U-boot doing in Atlantis? In order words: it appeared strange to me that you used the Das Boot theme in the end of the song. Try working harder on the melodies, try being more creative in the choice of instruments (are a piano and a panflute really necessary?) and the realness of the instruments and try building a better atmosphere. |
