Hardcore in an oldschool way; the strongest shall survive is an remix of a song which name I can't recall.
The song starts with an audience, something I haven't heard in quite some time. Problem is that the panning envelope is too fast; it sounds like a crowd is running from left to right and back all the time. A first leadsynth starts at 2.00, but isn't fluidly played because the samples just follow eachother and don't flow into eachother.
Then the maintune comes in, which really sounds rather impressive. Very well done here, but when the song starts off completely it's sounds rather flat; I'm missing low frequencies here. A flanger is used on the leadsynth, but the wet signal has been put at full. This results in disappearing of the signal at the highest level, which is a pity. Another problem with the flanger is that you loose phatness of the leadsynth, which is one of the powerfull points about the whole song.
The overall mix, structure and quality are surely okay, but the track length (7 minutes or so) is too long; after 4 minutes nothing new happens, so the last 3 minutes aren't usefull.
Overall a nice song, but due to the thin sound, the fact it's a remix and some little faults this song won't get high rates.
To the artist; give a better panning to the audience. Make the synth at 2.00 more fluid through using more channels or adjusting the volume envelope. Listen carefully to the effects of the flanger, because they seriously affect your instrument. Add a bassline or a bassdrum with more low to fill the frequency spectrum. Make a shorter, more compact mix.
Yes, quite some points, but I think it would result in a massive hardcore anthem! Again, potential is here, but it needs quite some finishing
