A very fast and rather complex breakbeat/fusion song with loads of instruments, melodies and ideas. These things probably give both the positive sides and the negative sides. Positive are the melodies, the complexity of the song, the creativity which is very well perceptible through the song and the diversity which keeps the listener attracted.
These things also point out the disadvantages of the song; although the usage of panning and volumes is well chosen to keep the overall appearance transparant the song does suffer from too much complexity. Their are multiple leadinstruments, which all are rather dominant. The result is a rather chaotic song.
Overall a very interesting song, especially when looking at the potential it got.
To the artist; try finding better suiting instruments so that they don't 'fight' eachother about who gets the most attention. For example your acid bassline and the clavecimbel are very dominant instruments, but their are also multiple others that also want attention. Find instruments that are less dominant, or use less instruments who are dominant. A great example of usage of multiple instruments & melodies in a way which is balanced is Orbital's way out -> (on the middle of nowhere album). Listen, learn and improve. Best thing for this song would be that you would make a more minimal version with bigger transparency, because the main melodies are really interesting. |
