The author says soundtrack, and I believe him. This tune has a typical soundtrack feel over it. Think it would suit some action/suspence scene in a movie set to the future. The tune makes me think of the Matrix soundtrack somehow, a soundtrack to which this tune would have fitted pretty well IMO.

The drumbeat is cool, really drives the tune forward. Although in some cases not very variating, it does it's job well. I would have liked a bit more clarity on the hihats though.

The tune has a couple of places where the sounds blend into each other, resulting in a pretty unclear soundscape. Especially when the pianoloop is played this effect occurs. I think this is because the pianoloop sounds as if the piano has been played with the pedal down, so every sound plays well into the next note. The pianoloop in general also doesn't quite fit into the rest of the song. It's a bit as if it's played in another room than the rest of the instruments.

The theme of the song is good, as well as the atmosphere. I can really see some action scene where the hero is entering some building full of evil robots :D

In general I like the tune. It's got power, and it certainly would suit the use the author has intended for it, namely soundtrack music. I'm wondering if it wouldn't even work in a club also :)
A joy to listen to, only thing that really bugs me about this tune is the abrupt ending. Why fade down so fast? I think a slower fade would have suited the song better.
Anyway, congrats on a job well done :)

Well this sure is something different! My review might be a little all-over-the-place but that shouldn't matter because so is this track ;)

Cool intro, I love that jungle sample Ben uses, really kick starts what is sure to be an interesting journey through this piece of work. He mentions it being geared towards more a "sountrack" style for film and television. I'd have to agree though the melodies and transitions suit more towards a game soundtrack in my opinion (or a movie/television show about a game hehe).

There is a thin line between when an artist is trying to add depth/layers to a track and when that all starts to clutter up and distract a listener. Hudson runs into a little bit of that in this track at more than one point in the song. A lot of that "depth" is added through mastering, which is a process that would take place outside of Madtracker.

The piano solo is a neat touch, but remember, (along with the some of the other leads in this track) sometimes using less notes can be just as effective when trying to express a feeling and can sometimes end up sounding a little more intelligent too. The strings compliment the piano quite well though (I'd recommend a different string sample, something a little softer and watch the tuning).

I've always been a sucker for breakbeat so I enjoy the rhythmic end of this track - a brighter bassdrum would really give it that extra "unf".

There is a lot of "pioneering" displayed in this track and I think props are deserved for the originality and effort that I can see went into this track. It's tough to classify what genre of music it is but it being more guided towards soundtracks can set it apart from normal classifications anyway. The melodies are dark and somewhat epic which gives it a little bit more of a timeless sound compared to something cheesy and more pop sounding.

Good for you for trying something original, it takes awhile before one can develop their own sound and you are on the right track.

Ok, that's the best tune at this point of the contest. I must say I don't like the piano riff and the abuse of some track effects.

I can ear many sampling noises on instruments, and my be poor quality on some. Anyway, this tune will perfectly fit any mid-quality action movie.

This contributor is much more sharp than others, it deserves the better notation for now. But I hope we will find other kind of music with strong melody and stylish harmonics.

I believe everything is not in the beat nor in the bigest sounds.

It meanwhile the most original product which I here heard, but is present musical illiteracy and false notes, in particular in strings.

Nice "deep" song. Just the piano/string part lacks a bit. It sounds thin and 4ch-mod-like and imho destroys the pro-attitude of the song. It's the typical bad way to use piano's in tracker songs. Playing a piano solo with just a single sample (piano's should really be multisampled) with the same velocity on all notes will sound in-human, and I doubt that was intended in this song.
