Quick Start Guide
5. Structuring your song
Organizing your song can greatly enhance your composition experience.
It helps finding elements back, structuring your song and keeping an overview of what you're busy with.
You can give names to patterns by double-clicking on its current name.
In our example, we double-clicked on "Pattern 00" in the pattern manager.
You can then create a new blank pattern by clicking on the button.
In our example the song now consists of two patterns that will play sequentially.
Let's have a look at the other buttons:
This button creates a new pattern that consists of the content of the current pattern. The new pattern will be inserted before the current pattern. The muted tracks will not be copied to the newly created pattern.
This button creates a new blank pattern and inserts it after the current pattern.
This button creates a new pattern that consists of the content of the current pattern. The new pattern will be inserted after the current pattern. The muted tracks will not be copied to the newly created pattern.
This button inserts another instance of the active pattern after it.
This button deletes the selected pattern(s), or the active pattern if none is selected.
The up & down arrows buttons enable you to change the pattern that will be played in the selected slot(s).
| You can right-click on a pattern to define it as a loop start, loop end, or song restart point. |
