| For recording any instrument, build a booth even if you need to drape sheets over something. Anything is worth the effort to buffer excess noise. Also, when recording anything it is best to use a stand to get the best positioning available (aside from holding the mic yourself [yes, even for vocals] it also reduces the bumping noises you get from the mic moving).
