Female Trackers?

I've noticed that on almost every forum related to tracking, sequencing, producing music etc etc about 95% of the users are male. Why are there so few female trackers? Even today with al the 'man and woman are equall' stuff going on tracking is still a guy-thing. Why is that? Female trackers can be equally skilled as male trackers...., right?

E: I'm male by the way Razz

Ever You noticed any difference between male and female?

So, if You did, it will not suprise for You: males and females differs by nature and by culture.

"making tracked music" is a male game, but "breeding a child" is a female thing. I hope You not making distiction on this two things, and You can respect that one You not practice. Female made music respectable as a male breeded child - so, I think it is great and really respectable thing.

So, question is that: females can making tracked music but why males can't breed even one child?

It is plain simple. Many women aren't interested in making music. They also consider it a male thing. Besides, tracking is more done with the mind then the heart, while singing is done more with the heart then the mind. That is why ladies like to sing Smile

Lol, I am bored, so I'm just thnking of possible arguments Laughing

Sure......I am the MCP....Or just MC...Uhmmm...I make battle music...There....That is more then enough...

Declare yourself the next Miriam, and you'd probably be on your way. Razz Mr. Green Wink

I think one of the reasons why most - if not all - trackers on forums come across as male, is because nearly all the guys seem to group around and make "hooting" noises and start posting little loveheart smilies all over the place, asking for numbers or making sexual jokes and everything, and naturally, that scares away the female trackers.

That's my theory anyway. I'm sure there'd be more female trackers than what's being let on, somewhere. They're just steering clear of the forums for above reasons.

Huh? You can't decide Your sex?

Man, this is the world's simplest thing: first, ask Your parents. If You are lucky, both will answer the same. Write down this answer to paper for later reference. This is a 80% sure answer already, but we can't stop here. To be sure, You need to purchase a microphone, and purchase SoundForge 7.0. Don't use illegal stuffs! Now You must to record Your singing. Then press Alt-8 to open spectrum analysator window and check dominant frequency (highest mountain spike). If this is around 200Hz, You probably women, because man's voice usually lower by an octave. If dominant frequency higher than 15Khz, You probably not part of the human race, lower than 0Hz means You forget to plug in mic. Then check Your personal folders on hard-disk. If You found files You made and have MT2 extension, means You making tracked music, so You are male. But this is just a temporal state, You maybe changed Your gender odd times. If You changed even times, Your current sex equal to Your original.

This was helpful?

Ladies sing more often because it's statistically proven that the same song sung by a woman sells twice as if it were sung by a man.

Indeed, most trackers are male, and one of the only vocal-based song in the last MT compo was my entry, featuring Caillean's vocals (and guess what...Caillean is a girl !)

However, she will have her PC within the 2 next weeks, and will start tracking too Smile

10 years ago, when someone (almost always a boy) had a computer and knew how to use stuff like trackers, he was often considered as the alien of his class by his schoolmates, and especially his female schoolmates (I know this very well as I went through this myself...). Nowadays, the generation that goes to high-schools now does not think the same, and therefore I guess that there will be more and more female trackers around.

Lluvia, who was the top tracker on traxinspace.com was a girl, and the MT compo 2 was also won by a girl (Meelena), so yes, there are talented tracking girls around.

BTW, a producer told me that "Caillean" sounded too uncommercial as a singer's handle. He thinks that some classic name+surname would be better. What do you think about it ? Is the name "Caillean" that hard to remember ?!? He also told me that such a handle made it unclear whether it was a he or a she. Well, I can't imagine a boy called "Caillean"...

Yes, because most females sing with passion, that is what I mean. You know the female trackers don't you? Lol..

Anyway.... That name Caillean...Never heard of it. I would say it is a guy if I had to judge by name to be honestly. I don't know how much somebody's name can influence his/her career, so...I'll shut my mouth about that...

This

is Caillean.
a "he" or a "she" ?

But your answer maybe shows she better has to change her handle, as it is obviously not that clear that "Caillean" is a girl.

I seeing that mic in it's hands. Photo taken just before voice analisation gender-test - right? :)

So, if this is a girl, and it's sure, name it Cidilla!

Or maybe CD-la. Audio-CD-lla? Maybe...
