Greatings all, have a new track. Well it's not new but I've been holding onto it for awhile, I don't know why. It might be some time before I get another one done. See, my roommate broke his collar bone while snowboarding and is now home 24/7. It's like writing a book while someone looks over your sholder so, I'm going to wait to sing again. I'm still practicing and hopefully getting better. I don't know what genere this song is, experimental, kind of rock/trance hybred I guess, but it does have some cool vocoder samples and useage.

Hope you like, comments on improvements are very much welcome, and or comments in general too.

Thank you.

I'll attack this from a technical pov

The drums lack punch, they sound overcompressed. The basskick especially is very weak. In general the song lacks a bass (or the bass is so deep my speakers can't reproduce it). On the positive note of that, this is a song that would sound just as good playing through a tweeter as playing through a fullrange speaker. The snare is lost somewhere under the guitarlayers and is barely audible most of the time.

The vocoder on the other hand is indeed cool, good usage.

overall, good ideas, but I think it needs a second go through the mixer to polish the levels.

oooh kaaay, well I've updated it, hopefully its better. I Threw in some new mastering knowledge I just picked up, makes it sound well inside out and I like it. It brought out alot of unheard/or barely hurd things to the surface. More improving comments are welcome, or just comments in genral. Thanks Sunbuster.

Again a difficult to say anything about. Unconventional as always. The vocals and the guitars create a very odd tension, because I'm still not sure if they fit eachother or not.

The break at 3.35 is like
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!

This would create excellent material for a remix of whatever sort. Please try to find 'Fresh - Submarines (Pendulum remix)', and be amazed how similar these vocals sound, but then inside a complete other environment (namely drum 'n bass).

Please keep experimenting with your voice. My personal preference would be that you would work with more melodic music (instead of the rather dry guitars as used in this track). But that's just me.

Inge

PS: drop me a pm with your e-mail address, and I'll fix you the song I spoke of.
