Does this problem only occur while loading a song, or does the action of loading freeze your system permanently? And does the size or cpu-weight of the songs differ in this resulting freezing-experience?
Feel free to skype me via username ingejanse (mind the lack of capitals!) for additional help.

Thanks for the offer Inge!, But a clean install seems to have helped. I`m having some difficulties scanning for VSTs - but I think I`ll figure it out. MT seems to list all the VSTs correctly in the VST list but doesn`t load them when loading a module. Perhaps multible VST directories confuse the matter. |

Ok, It seems to be working now. although the scanning proccses seemed to be freezeing when scanning certain VST (neurosonic trashcoder) - which I had to move in order to complete the VSTscan.
As mentioned, I had to uninstall a previous copy of MT in order to get this release to work, which is fine. I do however have a problem with the fact that the uninstall also deleted all the VSTs in the MT VST folder. This should be optional in my opinion.

That's really very odd. Both Yannick and the beta-testers (and I just tested it again with various ways of installing and uninstalling) did not encounter anything like this (windows 2000, xp home and xp pro).
Did you get the message after uninstalling 'some files/folders must be removed manually'? Or did Windows just uninstall MadTracker, and didn't say anything afterwards?
I hope you have backups of the stuff you had there. If you have any missing plugins, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

I didnt get any warning. And backup is for chickens So Im now officially against bundling VSTs and samples with the program - at least there should be a no-bundle alternativ. Its no big problem - I just have to download the full.exe instead of the light i guess, Luckily i keep most of my VSTs in another folder.
p.s I was not using 2.5 fix 2 which may explain why none of the beta tester encountered similar problems? I dont know... |

The light version doesn't have any VST bundled (as the description states).
Furthermore, the uninstall procedure will not delete files that were not created during the install.
I may consider having an option to leave the bundled plugins though.

But this is were the problem starts. If you download the full version - you should not have to keep downloading the same data (the VST) each time a new release is out. I thought I could do with a light version this time because i had already previously downloaded the full version. This may have been true if I could simply overwrite an existing installation - but when I have to deinstall the old version the problem occurs. I`m glad you are considering a an alternate bundle
Dont get my wrong here, I love every new release of MT |

tempo is displayed incorrectly sometimes... like 142,01 or something... song was made in old MT version, could it be a cause? |

Not really having any bug issues(crosses fingers). However I've noticed that even light cpu consuming VST(i) are consuming more then with RC5. Has anyone else noticed this at all?
