Posted: Thu Jun 30 2005 17:46 Scariest sound COMPO! (deadline: 30 sep) |
 |
Nothing huge here, but since there is some sort of summerbreak, a nice little compo.
Since I'm working on a special track (some of you have recieved the sneakpeak Please no sharing )
I discovered that it was not so easy to find some specific sounds, so.... let's make them ourselfs
This compo has nothing to do with my track but I thought it would be fun anyway, to scare eachother by making the ultimate scary sample
ok,
Rules:
- Make a sequence of no longer then 90 seconds with the scariest shit you got (*.mt2)
- Multible samples are alowed but...
- One sample must be made completely by yourself (a zombie grunt or somthing, a scream etc.
So grab your mic and start doing some freaky stuff
Prices:
- A good time
Priceless:
- The face of your reletives when they pass your room while your making that zombie/scary sample
(Dead)line

If you have any aditional ideas for this compo, mail me at mixat013@yahoo.com or contact me on the same adres on msn messenger, or ofc reply in this post.
Have fun,

[secret hint: get Prosoniq's PiWarp vst plugin for best scary effects]

This would have been a great tip - if the demoversion would not be limited to 5 minutes of use! however its only a 159 KB download.

Has anyone played silent hill. The music or atmosphere noise for that is the scariest sh!t I have ever heard.
I'm now thinking of crying babies mixed with industrial machines, creaking gates opening and closing. Mix in some TV/radio static and scare the bejesus out of anyone walking by.
ooh don't forget torturing yells as well. |

I'm glad people like to join, And I hope more will come
About the mp3/ogg thing, Yes it is alowed, but I need an mt2 file aswell
So make a mt2 file (proof) and then do with it what you want to enhance it (mp3/ogg)
(this mt2 file must have your own made sample in it!)
The mp3/ogg will be rated (publical vote) not the mt2, but, don't add stuff, just enhance
Any entries can be directly send to my mailbox (mixat013@yahoo.com) So i can upload them on a latter date
Have fun !

Seems like my atmosphere backgrounds I made, inspired by Doom III, might come to use then. Got to make that scary zombie scream first though ... |

the scariest sound is complete silence, so do like this to hear my contribution:
Just seat yourself in a soundproof dark room for 60 seconds.
no need to upload |

maybe 90? 120 seems to be a bit too long, 60 feels a bit short. however, if these are the only 2 options then i would go for 60 secs. |
