would be nice, a piece of software that composes a pop tune by analising your writing in MS word |

Hehehe .
Thx anyway, buddy.
If I ever get the alzheimer disease or lose the ability to compose melodies I might try it . |

Well it depends...
I mean I have seen somebody working with ejay (or was it MAgix?).
You got nothing but loops and itīs like making a puzzle, cause you place loop after loop and that for every single track (drums, bassline, melody etc).
You put loop after loop and it might happen that someone else on this planet made the same song like you or used the same loops.
I used loops too but in different ways
Drumloop: I cut the samples out (Bassdrum, snaredrum, hihat etc) and make a new beat, put effects on it, mix them together with other drums etc.
And yeah I used loops from a score of a film or anything, cause thatīs what you sometimes do when you make a hip hop beat.
But then Iīd use only one. And the rest is selfmade, like the beat, bassline, leads, background-instruments, strings etc, so you kinda make a new song.
But I wouldnīt use an ejay loop for sure .
And I wouldnīt use loops for every song...
so long . |

well I can agree that in hiphop it's not only common to use samples from old soul jazz etc. lp's but an awesome element in the music imo. but often it's not loops, most songs sample ex: a breakbeat and chop it up as you said and make your own beat with it, old strings and voices and such too. but I don't see this as loops, it's sampling, you create something new of it. loops for me is when you buy a sample cd and load up a loop sample and then maybe ad a fx and then you are done, and that's what I think is boring. ok loops was a great way to learn and understand how beats and such was created during the beginning stage of music making. not saying everyone should stop using loops just that I peronally don't find it impressive. sampling on the other hand... mmmm, me like very very mucho! |
